Timothy J. Quillen

Tim is the Lead Plant / Piping Designer for OSDV Engineering. His role at OSDV includes lay out and hook up of process and utility equipment in existing, brownfield  or greenfield sites to best fit the client’s needs.  He ensures an efficient integration of the process, utilities and facility.  Working with the end-user stakeholders, he provides adequate space and access for operations, maintenance and site logistics.  He performs and oversees the layout and detail design for the pipe racks, process piping and utility piping to support the equipment and basic functions of the facility.

He has over 25 years of experience as a plant / piping designer in the chemical, petro-chemical, biotech, pharmaceutical, food / beverage, energy and pulp & paper industries. He is also well versed in process engineering and P&ID design.  He has particular expertise in modular design and skid fabrication and has developed specifications and design details for skid based equipment and modular piping and rack design.  He has provided supervision and acceptance testing both at the fabrication shop and in the field. He has provided overall project coordination across disciplines.

Tim has an associate’s degree in Architectural Design and Mechanical Design from Pittsburgh Technical Institute. These skill maximize how rooms and equipment are designed for the optimum process flow and use of building space. He has been using AutoCAD and Microstation for over 30 years as well as PDMS and PDS for over 15 years.
