OSDV Engineering Congratulates CJ Thouret on his Recertification for Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP).

Chuck Clerecuzio, Principal of OSDV Engineering, on behalf of the entire ODSV Engineering team,
congratulates Project Coordinator, CJ Thouret, “for his outstanding achievement of recently passing
his recertification for Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP).”

Mr. Thouret, of OSDV Engineering has over nine years of professional experience and expertise
in both construction methodology and trades gained through hands-on experience as well as
project oversight and delivery. Additionally, he is experienced as a client representative,
engineering liaison, construction support, start-up and commissioning professional.

The Association of Energy Engineers has certified thousands of professionals within the energy
industry since 1981. The AEE certifications are recognized by many governmental agencies,
including the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and by end users, utilities, and energy service companies. "CBCP" behind a professions name, is a acknowledgment of professional activities that are the full scope of knowledge requisite to the effective commissioning of existing buildings. You have demonstrated high levels of experience, competence, and specialized knowledge within your field.

AEE's Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Program, Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) Program, and Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP) Program have been reviewed by the Facility Management Institute of the U.S. General Services Administration and are all aligned with the FBPTA.

November 2014

The Buz Lange Award was established in 1995 by John Cocco, first president of the Delaware Valley Chapter. Since then, it has been given to an individual in the Chapter who emulates Buz’s leadership, focus on innovation, teamwork and service. Buz was ahead of his time in many ways, which was obvious in his visionary thinking and inclusive behaviors.

Buz, a husband and father of three, received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Villanova University and went on to receive a Masters in Business Administration from Drexel. He was a strong believer in education both in and out of the class room. In the 1980’s until his death in 1993, he spent countless hours with ISPE on the local and international level, and he was a mentor for many in the industry. Buz also contributed his talents to children and young adults through his volunteer work in local sports, charities and service projects. He truly found his energy in coaching, refereeing and building needed facilities for little league fields and church initiatives. John Cocco reflects, “Buz was committed to serve others and strongly believed in the concept of sharing best practices and in creating healthy competition resulting in state of the art delivery of medicines to those who need it. Buz leaves an enduring legacy of leadership, operational excellence, advocacy and community service.”

The AIChE Constitution and Bylaws establish the criteria for election to Fellow:

A nominee for election as Fellow shall have been in chemical engineering practice for an adequate period of time to demonstrate long-term excellence, normally 25 years, and shall have been an AIChE member for at least ten years (exclusive of student membership), at least three years of which shall be in the grade of Senior Member.

Election as Fellow shall be in recognition of “service to the profession” and “significant professional accomplishment.” Contribution in one of these areas shall be outstanding, and some contribution in both areas is necessary.

“Service to the profession” means efforts done for reasons other than financial compensation for AIChE, other technical societies, or other not-for-profit entities whose efforts benefit chemical engineers or the advancement of the engineering profession.

“Significant professional accomplishments” shall be based on success in process, product, or theoretical developments, project leadership, managerial achievement, the educating of engineers, or other activities related to chemical engineering.

A Senior Member with three years in good standing who has satisfied the Fellow Bylaw requirements may be nominated for consideration to be elected Fellow.

The Nominator must be an AIChE member in good standing.
